Hi friends! Guess what?

RLP – aka RED LIGHT PROPERTIES aka the Best Comic Work of my career – IS COMING BACK!!!

Yes I've been posting little teases on IG all summer but today Dear Readers, you are the first ones to learn about:

This is the front cover. You are the first people outside of my family to see it, my lovelies.

RED LIGHT PROPERTIES: UNFINISHED BUSINESS, an oversized slipcase omnibus hardcover collecting the graphic novel plus one hundred pages of never-before-printed RLP comics (and even more) that's coming to Kickstarter on October 1st!

This piece is the front of the Deluxe Edition's slipcase. Again, you're the first!

This button will take you to the Kickstarter Prelaunch page, where you can select "Notify Me on Launch" and Kickstarter will email you when the campaign goes live. You'll be able to see all the editions and add-ons on offer then:

(Also, I'm not mad if you share this link around to your favorite people.)

This is the Deluxe Edition slipcase's back cover.

Next spring, after you've got the book in your hands (mid-February), I'll begin producing all new RLP comics that pick up right where UNFINISHED BUSINESS leaves off, serializing them right here on the newsletter you're already subscribed to.

If you're a recent reader and don't know what RLP is:

Once upon a time in Miami... there was a schlub named Jude who could see dead people and a hustler named Cecilia angling for her slice of the American dream. When they met, sparks flew (different sparks fly now). They got married, had a kid, and combined their talents into a real estate agency called RED LIGHT PROPERTIES, offering "previously-haunted" homes at below-market prices to folks who could never otherwise afford one.

But the good vibes don't always last, do they? In order to clear a space of lingering spirits, Jude requires heroic doses of psychedelics on the daily to penetrate The Membrane separating the spirit world from ours... leaving him forever straddling his shamanic higher reality and the reptile-brain dystopia of American capitalism.

Which leaves Cecilia holding the bag with like, everything else: finding clients, closing contracts, the emotional labor of holding their family together, and... you see where this is going. Family businesses always suck... but this family business is the stuff of actual supernatural nightmares. In South Florida.

To my OG RLPeeps:

I'm so over the moon about UNFINISHED BUSINESS. This is the edition I wanted to exist for a decade, the compendium you've been asking me for all these years. I just had to become a publisher to make it exist. Before you even ask: YES, it contains "Goodnight Donnie Cheng" and "Underwater" and a bunch more, including the "Tight Shorts" stories that ran on my old ComicPress site but never made the leap to Comixology. This edition has 100 pages more comics than the IDW edition, and they're printed much larger and better paper.

I've also written and designed another 40 pages of epistolary content that threads in/out of the comics (like Alan Moore's League of Extraordinary Gentlemen) and ties the whole structure tight, adding new loose threads for me to pick up in the new stories next spring.

I've been building towards this moment where I take full creative control of my work for a long time, and it's absolutely brilliant to follow my WILD WHIMS with every physical object, even this first time. It's resulted in the finest edition of comics I've ever produced, inside and out... hopefully the first of many.

I'll be back here later this week with a new Dang Old Man story for you, and then again Oct 1 when the campaign goes live.

Much love and gratitude,

I'm smiling so big I'll have to redraw this toon soon. See you in a bit!
